Avery’s debut Contemporary YA novel was listed as a Notable Book for Older Readers by the Children’s Book Council of Australia and made it on the International Board of Books for Young People’s list of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disability and/or Deafness.
As a queer, neurodivergent woman living with disability, Avery’s writing is character-focused with lots of sass and banter.
More recently, she’s been writing an Adult Mafia Romance series with a comedic focus rather than the traditional dark romance vibes the genre is known for.
High school is hard enough when you're healthy. When you've got some weird, undiagnosable chronic illness, it's a special hell.
Meet Grace Turing.
She loves art, weird trivia, and her little sister, Ivy.
Grace has a secret. One that she's determined to keep at her new school, in a new state, where no one knows her as 'Sick Girl'. This is her chance to make friends and seem normal while her illness is still invisible. But is an invisible illness really invisible? How long can she keep a secret this big? And who else is she hurting by keeping her pain to herself?

Inheriting a La Famiglia has been nothing but trouble for Davide, but this latest problem might take the cake...
Nadia, executive assistant extraordinaire, didn't plan on getting kidnapped.
To be fair, her kidnappers hadn't planned on kidnapping her, either.
Wrong place, wrong time, wrong woman.
Or maybe... the right woman?
Maybe Nadia is exactly what Davide and La Famiglia need...
A fun mafia rom-com about a woman with insomnia, sass, and a strong determination not to end up getting "Stockholm Syndromed" by a sexy mafia boss.

ABOUT
AVERY
A+ HUMAN BEING
Autistic, asthmatic, autoimmune warrior, author... that's A+, right?
Avery is a teacher librarian by degree, but her battle with chronic illness has shaped her working life substantially. She currently works in her community as Inclusion Coach. She writes sassy heroines with invisible illness, and to amuse her sister; her favourite person in the world.
Her debut novel, Invisibly Grace was longlisted for the Tasmanian Literary Prize, given Notable by the Children's Book Council of Australia, and placed on the list of 40 Outstanding Books for Young People with Disability or Deafness by the International Board of Books for Young People... quite a lot of accolades for a book about a sixteen year old girl with autoimmune disease who tries to make friends after moving to a new school (okay, she falls in love, too, but how could she not?).
Avery lives and writes in Kanamaluka, Lutruwita/ Launceston, Tasmania where she lives with her long-suffering husband.
